Community Programs

Here is a list of programs in the community provided by Jackson Lytle & Lewis

,

Senior Dream Center

This is a non-profit organization we created in 2008 to grant wishes to seniors in Clark and Champaign Counties. We have fulfilled over 200 dreams through 2017. Learn more here.

Honor Field

Every year since 2009 Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center has turned the front lawn into a sea of red, white and blue with hundreds of 3ft x 5ft American flags on 8ft poles from June 6th (D-Day) to June 14th (Flag Day). Each flag represents a thank you to our veterans for their service and sacrifice for our country. This program through 2017 has donated over $40,000 to local veterans groups, including Honor Flight, Purple Heart Chapter #620, VFW Post 1031 for medical transport and others.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

We have collected and donated over 2,700 used cell phones. For each cell phone we donate our service men and women overseas receive a one hour calling card to call home.

Annual Coat Drive with Salvation Army

We partner with the Salvation Army on this program. We collect the coats and they distribute them to those in need in our community for free. This program puts hundreds of coats, sweaters, gloves, stocking hats and other winter clothes in the hands of those that need them most in our community. We collect year round and the items are distributed in November.

Operation Valentine

Send a Valentine to a Hero. The message is a simple one, “Thank you so much for what you do, we always need you.” This is just one of the many sweet messages from the heart of a child to a soldier or veteran in a project called Operation Valentine. The project is simple and meaningful. Students and individuals throughout the community write messages to the troops and veterans on Valentine Cards, Cut-Out Hearts, or whatever they like and we make sure they are delivered to our brave men and women serving overseas. Cards cannot include glitter, food or candy, but there are still many ways to personalize a handmade card. Write a message on them and say “Thank You,” tell them about yourself and wish them a Happy Valentine Day! Our troops are away from their loved ones and friends so they really want to know that people back home appreciate them. You can drop off cards until February 5th.

Silent Watch

We partner with the Clark County Veterans Office to promote Suicide Awareness. September is Suicide Awareness month and 20 veterans attempt suicide daily. On September 22nd 2019 form 0700 hours to 1730 hours we will have volunteers on 15 minute watches with a flag draped casket at the end of our drive way. They watched over us and now we will watch over them.

Springfield Christian Youth Ministry Book Drive

We partner with Springfield Christian Youth Ministries and collect children's books and they distribute them to kids during their summer Reading Boost Camp. We collect books year round.

50% Discount for Developmentally Disabled

Through this new program, Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center will provide funeral services for those in Clark County that are developmentally disabled at a 50% discount. This offer applies to all services and merchandise for burial and cremation.

Monthly Birthday Party

The 3rd Wednesday of every month we take cake and ice cream to the residents of Forest Glen so they can all celebrate their birthday. We know that some residents don't have anyone to visit them and we want to make sure they still have a chance to celebrate their birthday.

Free Senior Movies

Every year we sponsor or provide free senior movie days. Watch our community events page for details or call in with your email address so we can notify you of the times and place for upcoming FREE movie events.

Lunch & Learn

We provide lunch and learn opportunities throughout the year. We discuss the benefits of pre-planning funeral service, Q&A on veterans benefits, and more subjects that are important to our community. Watch our community events page for details or call to be added to the email list for notifications of times, location and topic.
