Daniel Joseph Gereg Sr.

Daniel Joseph Gereg Sr., age 73 of Yellow Springs, passed away at his residence on October 22, 2020. He was born February 13, 1947 to the late Joseph and Patricia (Allen) in Springfield, OH. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jack, brother-in-law, Paul, and sisters; Suzanne “Michelle”, and Terri and Sherri. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Roberta (Cook) Gereg, his son, Daniel Gereg Jr. (Stephanie), daughter, Melissa Litwiller (Terry), brothers; Stephen “Butch”, Mickey (Marilyn), sister, Patty, grandchildren; Dakota Gereg, Aryca Litwiller, Amiee Sizemore, and Anthony Litwiller, two great-grandchildren; Liam and Alaria, and a special shoutout to all of his golfing buddies.

Daniel was an outdoorsman and a lifelong hunter. He proudly served in the United States Army for just under 3 years, where he received the National Defense Service Medal as an expert level rifleman. Daniel also worked at SPECO, Navistar, Dayton Gear and Tool, and Custom Manufacturing Solutions as an inspector for many years.

Daniel was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society in Daniel’s honor. Daniel will be cremated with no services, as he wished.
