Edna Carter

January 17, 1928 — January 16, 2020

CARTER, Edna, 91, passed away at Forest Glen Nursing Home, Springfield, Ohio on January 16, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ellis Carter who passed away April 8, 2016.  Edna was born in Elliott County, Kentucky, January 17, 1928 to the late Dora and Manford Winkelman.  She retired from Chaneys Thermometer Company in Springfield and was a member of the Enon First Church of God and past member of the Northside First Church of God and Maiden Lane First Church of God.  She was a loving mother with a tremendous concern for family and friends.  She looked forward to being with family and friends in Heaven.  She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.  She is survived by two children, Wilma Demmy (Gary) of Springfield, Ohio and Delmar Carter (Linda) of Winchester, Kentucky, four grandchildren: Angie Henson (David) of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Jill Moore (Stephen) Medway, Ohio, Tracy Whisman (Paul) of Winchester, Kentucky, David Carter (Kara) of Winchester, Kentucky; five great-grandchildren: Taylor Bishop of Springfield, Ohio, Ava Moore of Medway, Ohio, Sarah Whisman and Bethany Whisman of Winchester, Kentucky, and Andrew Carter of Winchester, Kentucky; three sisters: Nellie Allen, Polly Winkelman and Della Adams.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with her funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating.  Edna will be laid to rest in Ferncliff Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Ellis.  Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com
