Hugh "Fred" Henne

Henne, Hugh F. (Fred)- Age 79, of South Charleston, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in his beloved home of 53 years. He was born November 3, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Edgar and Julia (Sabo) Henne. He was a graduate of McKinley High School in Dayton, Ohio. He worked as a metal grinder at Koehring Road Division for 20 years and also worked as a grain elevator operator at Landmark for 10 years. He was a part time farmer for over 40 years working on his own farm and helping various farmers in the area. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and everything that nature had to offer, whether sitting on a tractor working ground or sitting on a bucket fishing. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with his buddy Gary and farming with his buddies Orville, Bill and Brad. He was a huge sports fan especially fond of football and Nascar. He enjoyed his friends and family and loved chatting for hours with his oldest friend, Judy. His greatest joy in life was watching his grandson, Trey, grow up. He cherished every moment and event and was truly his biggest fan and supporter. Hugh (Fred) is preceded in death by his wife, Judy in 1998. He is survived by his only daughter, Dawn (Cooper); son in law, Tony Cooper; only grandson, Trey Cooper; sisters, Theresa (Gary) Ford, Opal Harvey, Carolyn Plummer; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio Hospice and a special thank you to Dr. Marvin Narcelles for the amazing care, support and compassion. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 19, from 11 am-12 pm in Ingling, Williams and Lewis Funeral Home, South Charleston. A service will immediately follow at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice.
