James A. Smith

SMITH, James A. age 75 of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Good Shepherd Village. He was born on January 29, 1945 to the late William and Winifred (Billet) Smith in Springfield. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Smith. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two sons: Greg Smith and Brad (Maria) Smith; grandchildren: James, Brian, Maddie and Tori Smith as well as his siblings: Warren (Celeste) Smith, Dave (Barb) Smith, Bill (Becky) Smith, Marilyn (Danny) Capper and Darlene (Mike) Sullivan. James retired from Navistar after 32 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing and camping. He will forever be missed by those who knew him. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with his service beginning at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park.
