Joan M. Buchman

Buchman, Joan M. Age 86 of South Charleston, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born on October 6, 1935 to the late Arthur and Gertrude (Kammer) Woeste. In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Joseph Buchman and her siblings: Arthur, Ralph, Tom, Margaret, Dolores, and Janet. She leaves behind her two daughters, Kimberly & William Chapman and Sandi & Mike Moshier; grandchildren: Lexi (Daniel) Noel, Jessica (Matt) Phillips, and Kristin Chapman; great grandchildren: Tucker, Easton, and Alina as well as a dear family friend, who Joan considered a daughter, Beth (Scott) Patton and many nieces and nephews. Joan was a teacher’s aid for 42 years at Miami View Elementary before retirement. She enjoyed puzzles, going to the beach, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Joan was known for her sassy attitude and being a bit too stubborn at times but underneath her tough exterior, Joan was a true family matriarch who adored her family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Ingling Williams & Lewis Funeral Home in South Charleston from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM with her funeral beginning at 12:00 PM. Joan will be laid to rest next to her late husband Joseph at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions to go to the Stephanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center in Joan’s honor.
