APONE, Joseph age 69 of Springfield passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at OSU Medical Center. He was born on June 17, 1950 to the late Rosa M. Peck in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his mother, Joseph is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Apone. He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 23 years, Catherine (Streeter) Apone; children: Mary (Ian) Thompson, Victoria "Rosie" Apone, Jacob Apone, Anastasia Apone, Chloe Apone, Jeremiah Apone, Abigail Apone, Isabella Apone and Jody Apone. Joseph is also survived by his siblings: Kathryn Frye, Kitty Roman, James Apone, Peter Apone, Paul Apone and Bernadette Shields. He will also be dearly missed by his yorkie bishon, Leah. Joseph received his Bachelor's in Mathematics from Utica College; Master's in Electrical Engineering from Wright State University and his PhD from Binghamton University of New York also in Electrical Engineering. Joseph was employed by Sikorsky-Lockheed Martin as a Senior Electrical Engineer. He was a nature lover who enjoyed hiking and biking. Joseph was famous for his home videos of his family. He was usually the one behind the camera but loved spending time with his family in any way possible. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. His funeral will follow on Saturday, August 10 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Costandy Saba officiating. Joseph will be laid to rest at Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network at P.O. Box 3614 Paso Robles, California 93447.
