Lavena Dell Farrell

FARRELL, Lavena Dell age 81 of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Springfield Regional Medical Center.  She was born on June 30, 1939 to the late Willie and Julia (Adkins) Phillips.  In addition to her parents, Lavena is preceded in death by four of her children: David, Kimberly, Chris and Susie Markwell and siblings: Ed Phillips, Blandena Quesinberry, Loretta Workman, and Kathy VanArsdale.  She leaves behind her beloved husband of forty years, Ronald Farrell; children: Rhonda (Marty) Heskett, Cindy (Wally) Sothard, Tom (Kellee) Markwell, Tim Markwell, Philip Markwell, and Alice (Greg) Holbrook; step-children: Teri (Jeff) Banion, Lynne Banion, and Anita Farrell; siblings: Billy, Danny, and Joe Phillips.  Lavena was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Lavena was devoted to her faith and her family meant everything to her.  She will be sadly missed by those who knew her.  A visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Sim Bowen officiating.  Lavena will be laid to rest at South Solon Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Lavena's honor to the Good Samaritan Outreach at First Christian Church.  Condolences can be left to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com
