Lawrence Glenn Larson

May 28, 1941 — June 24, 2021

Lawrence Glenn Larson, 80, of St. Joseph, Michigan, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2021, in his home with his loving wife by his side. Glenn fought a brave and lengthy battle against chronic kidney disease.

He was born on May 28, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lawrence Henry and Lillian (Welling) Larson. Glenn graduated from Wittenberg University with his Bachelor’s in Philosophy and was retired from Springfield Federal Savings and Loan, in addition to other financial services.

Having been born in Pittsburgh, Glenn was a lifelong Steelers fan. He and his wife Kathy enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams each season. They also loved to hear the patriotic music programs on the 4th of July. Glenn loved participating in the debate team at Wittenberg. Early in his career, he won the American Savings & Loan Institute Speech Contest of Dayton Chapter 115 for 1974-1975. He loved discussing theology with others of the same inclination.

The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his family. He took much delight in raising their daughter and supporting her activities in academics, figure skating, basketball, and drama. He was thrilled to learn recently that he would become a grandfather in early 2022.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy, whom he married July 10, 1976; his daughter & son-in-law, Kristen and Justin Cloyd; sister, Joyce Larson; brother-in-law, Terry (Keineth) Bunish; sister-in-law, Cheryl Bunish; nephew, Micah (Renee) Larson; and nieces, Merri Massie, Brande (Carl) Osborne, Lindsey Bunish and Erica Bunish. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Bunish.
