Loren Robert Kline

September 14, 1963 — October 22, 2020

Loren Robert Kline went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 22 at his home in Canton Georgia. He was born in Springfield, Ohio to Robert and Jaclyn (Netts) Kline on September 14, 1963. He attended Fairborn schools, graduating in 1981. He received a BA in Psychology from Wright State University in 1985. He held several jobs in Fairborn before moving to Norcross GA in 1987 and lived the rest of his life in the Atlanta, Georgia area. In 1991, he was injured in an automobile accident, which left him a quadriplegic. Loren outlived everyone’s expectations, spending 29+ years as a quadriplegic and living independently for many of those years. He was employed as a marketing analyst for The Home Depot, and later Ames Tools. Early in 2020, he fell out of his wheelchair and was injured, which lead him to “retire” on Social Security Disability Income.
Loren did not let his disability define him. He played quad rugby in his younger years and served as a mentor for newly injured quadriplegics. He was a great son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Ben in 2007. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister and brother-in-law Denise and Jerry Derge of Fairborn; niece Jessica (Brent) Rossman and their daughters of Columbus, Ohio; and nephew Joel (Lindsey) Derge and their sons of Tipp City, Ohio. He has a large extended family who adored him. He also had a “tribe” of close friends in Canton, who made it possible for him to live alone.
He will be cremated and interred at Medway Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held later at Jackson, Lytle, Lewis funeral home in Springfield.
Donations would be appreciated by Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd. NW Atlanta, GA 30309. This is the hospital he was rehabbed in in 1991 and 2020.
