Mary Elizabeth Filson

FILSON, Mary Elizabeth age 77 of Cedarville, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was born on February 21, 1946 in Greenville, Ohio to the late George and Alma (Chase) Hien. Mary leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, Earl Filson; their three sons: John (Kelly) Filson, James (Brandi) Filson and Josh Filson; grandchildren: Landon, Grady, Parker, Jasper and Katie as well as her sister, Ruth (John) Filson. Mary and her husband Earl faithfully attended Grace Baptist Church and was a dedicated employee at Cedarville University's library for 20 years. She was an avid reader, sometimes reading three books a day. Mary was an amazing cook, an even better baker and loved her family more than anything. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Grace Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until her funeral begins at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Rohm officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Dayton Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
