Nancy L. Parks

June 6, 1944 — June 28, 2022

Nancy L. Parks, 78, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord on June 28, 2022. She was born on D-Day, June 6, 1944, in Beaufort, South Carolina, the daughter of Harry and Margaret “Dottie” (Truman) Poland.

She was a faithful member of both Hillside Avenue and Maiden Lane Church of God; her life was centered around the Lord. She was active in the Joy Circle, the bell choir, sanctuary choir, and was known for her beautiful singing voice. She worked for Clark County Mental Health for over 30 years as both an administrative assistant and as a psychiatric nurse and was a longtime employee of Maccora’s Restaurant and Lounge. She was an avid reader and favored mysteries, historical, and devotional books. She had a creative flair that was seen in her crafts from cross stitching to card making.

Nancy was most happy when she was with her family whom she loved selflessly. All of her children will tell you that she sacrificed her time and money to put them first. She was known for her beautiful smile which was most seen when she was in the presence of her grandchildren. She modeled how to love well and without realizing it, she taught her family to love others the same way.

She is survived by her children Mike (Shana) Parks, Chris (Yady) Parks, Kathy (Doug) Reno, and Amy Parks; grandchildren Brittany (Grant) Inge, Andrew, Noah, and Meghan Parks, Miranda (Jared) Holycross, Jimmy and Jasmonica Gallegos, and Dale and Joshua Reno; five great-grandchildren, Jensen, Kashten, Ma’Kayla, Waylon, and Naomi.

A celebration of her life will be held at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center in Springfield on July 7 with Rev. Mike Criner officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with the memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in her name to the ALS Association Central & Southern Ohio Chapter.
