Pamela Rae Smith

Pamela R. Smith, 61, passed into the Lord’s hands on Monday, March 20, 2023, after a battle with cancer.

Pamela was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to parents Rev. Paul Berridge and Marguerite (Sheeks) Berridge. She was preceded in death by her mother Marguerite Berridge, paternal grandparents Rev. J. Howard Berridge and Bertha Berridge, maternal grandparents Cury and Myrtle Sheeks and her sister Janice Berridge.

She leaves behind her husband of twenty-one years Edward (Eddie) Smith, daughter Maggie Smith, father and stepmother Paul and Gloria Berridge, sister Valerie (Tim) Brown, brother-in-law Allen Smith, father-in-law Albert (Mary) Smith, nephews Aaron Brown, Joshua (Chelsey) Brown, Cody Smith, Ryan Smith and niece Michaela Smith.

Pam graduated from God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1979. She was employed for 37 years at IH Credit Union, which she retired from in November 2022.

Pam was never alone as her two beloved dogs Marley and Bailey, were always by her side. They loved her as much as she loved them.

Pam had a passion for music and was a member of the Praise and Worship team at Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union. Pam was a very gifted and blessed piano player with the ability to hear a song and play it. Pam enjoyed singing with her two sisters and sharing the gospel by song. The “Berridge” trio was invited to several churches for revivals. Some great memories were around the family piano blending their voices.

She lived to use her musical talent for songs of praise for her Lord and Savior. Her love for Jesus came from the loving Christian home from which she was raised.

Pam loved family and held them close to her heart. Her daughter Maggie which was the center of her world. She loved to hear Maggie sing and spend time with her whether it be cooking, shopping, or simply watching a movie together.

She will be deeply missed by many people, but there is comfort in knowing she has returned to the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A Celebration of Life service will be held by Pastor Ronald Adkins at Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union Urbana, Ohio on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The service will begin at 5:00 pm with a calling time 2 hours prior to service.
