Paulette Marie Cole

October 17, 1945 — May 4, 2023

Paulette Marie Cole, 77 of South Charleston, left her earthly home on Thursday, May 4, 2023 and is now spending eternity with Jesus.


Paulette was born in Gay, West Virginia on October 17, 1945 to the late Okey and Bernice Knopp.


A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Paulette is survived by her loving husband Glen of 61 years. They were married in Pearisburg, Virginia on May 21, 1962. Together they raised four children, Richard Lee, Julie Marie, Teresa Lynn, and Johnny Ray.


Paulette loved her family, and Jesus, most of all.


She is survived by her husband, Glen, children, Julie (Steve) Layne, Teresa (Roger) Carter, and John Cole, grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Koehler, Elizabeth Cole, Glen Cole, Rachel (Dustin Johnson) Cole, Christopher Zimmers, Josh (Amy) Zimmers, Amber (Kevin) LeValley, Amanda (Kyle) Inman, Stephanie (Chad) Sissler, John Cole, Alex Johnson, Paul (Jena Pinkerman) Cole, Cheyenne (Levi) Coy, brother, Paul Knopp, and numerous great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Okey and Bernice Knopp, son, Richard Cole, sisters, Edra and Edna Knopp (both in infancy), sister, Elsa Carol Rhodes, brother, Dwight Knopp, and sister, Kathleen Corbitt.


The family would like to recognize her many dear friends, closest friends, Deloris (late Eldon) Roaden, and Wayne and Norma Smith. The family would like to thank Nena Dillion, Doctors West Hospital (2nd Floor Team), and The Hospice Team for the exceptional care provided this past week, not only for Paulette but for our family.


Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Roger Carter. Her final resting place will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Gay, West Virginia. Following the services, the family will be gathering for continued fellowship at 2200 South US Highway 68 Urbana, OH 43078. Please use building entrance #2.
