Roland R. Mumford

Roland R. Mumford, age 60, of Springfield, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 3, 2021. He passed away at home peacefully after several years of severe health issues. He was born April 5, 1961 at West Point Academy Military Hospital in New York. He was a very loving and devoted son, brother, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his mother, Anne Marie Anita (Pelletier) Mumford; brothers, James (Jim) Mumford of Wilmington OH., Robert (Bobby) Mumford of Springfield OH., sister, Michele (Mumford) Loudenback of Hilliard OH., daughter, Jennifer (Mumford) Bacastow of Lafayette GA., son, Justin (Cody Brink) Mumford of Caryville TN., Grandchildren; Emilee, Olivia, and Gabriel Bacastow of Lafayette GA., several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Mumford and grandparents Roland L. Mumford and Betty (Hilfrich) Mumford and Rene Pelletier and Mabel (Cyr) Pelletier as well as several aunts and uncles. Roland attended Urbana High School in 1979. He enjoyed NASCAR, football, grilling out, muscle cars, working on his lawn mowers, bowling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his last years he loved to spend his time with his best friend, his dog, Bo. His children would like to give a special thank you to Teresa Minniear Starr, for the many years of love and care she gave to their father. The children would also like to give a special thank you to their Grandma Mumford and Uncle Bobby for being there and taking care of their daddy when they weren’t able to be.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The service will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
