Shonda Elliott

Shonda Elliott, age 45, peacefully passed away from breast cancer on September 17, 2021 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 23, 1976 in Springfield, OH.



She is survived by her parents William (Terry) LaPois and Jacquelyn LaPois, sons James (Victoria) Sherrock IV and Michael Shuff, daughter Mackenzie Shuff, stepson Dylan Elliott, grandson James Sherrock V, step grandchildren Liam and Emma Elliott, sister Tonya LaPois, brother Eric LaPois, stepsister Nancy Cheatham, Shawn Elliott, brothers and sisters-in-law Greg (Susan) Elliott and Kevin (Angela) Elliott, numerous nieces and nephews, and her precious grand dogs and cats.



Shonda’s passion was being a mom and Grammie. She also dedicated her life to taking care of children as a preschool teacher where she and her best friend Nevada Rosa Reeves impacted countless lives. She always helped with nieces and nephews, her friend’s children, and any child that needed her. In her free time she loved camping and boating at the Ohio River with family. She deeply loved her care team at the Springfield Cancer Center. Dr. Filix Kencana and the staff became family to her.



Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Jackson, Lytle, Lewis Life Celebration Center with a memorial service to celebrate her life immediately following at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Springfield Cancer Center where the money will be used for future patient and center needs.
