William Roach Jr., son of William Sr. & Betty Roach, passed peacefully on March 9, 2023. Bill proudly served in United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and longtime resident of Galloway, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Roach; sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew & Sherry Roach, Mark & Stephanie Roach and John & Dena Roach; grandchildren Maya, Raymond, and Luke Roach, and Pete, Bryan, and Brittany Robinson; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Terry, Danny, and Ricky Roach; many cousins, nephews, and a nieces; and two beloved stepsons, Greg and Chris Robinson.
Bill “Willy” retired from Navistar and from Guardsmark. He loved watching his sons and grandchildren play ball. He loved sports and a good family card game especially beating his sister-in-law Elaine in poker. Special thanks to the Massies, the Spectras, and Megan Woodridge for all their help. Bill was a sweet and kind man and was loved by all who knew him.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force from September 1963 to August 1967. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Air Medal.
Calling hours will be Tuesday March 14th from 6 to 8pm at Ingling Williams & Lewis Funeral Home at 24 N. Chillicothe Street, South Charleston, Ohio. A memorial service to honor Bill’s life will be held at 10am on Wednesday, March 15th also at the funeral home. Following the service, Bill will be buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston, Ohio. Afterwards, there will be a memorial celebration of Bill’s life and good humor at the Train Depot at 134 S.
