Alan Lee Welsheimer, the son of Sylvia and Raymond Welsheimer died on August 14, 2026, at the age of 86 while under hospice care. He was at the assisted living facility of the Springfield Masonic Community. Alan was a 1958 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by his sister, Judith. Alan was a walker, hiker, climber and biker. He summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mt. Rainier in Washington State, and might have summited Aconcagua in the Andes of Argentina if it hadn’t been for dangerous weather conditions during the climb. Also, he enjoyed trapshooting and won several shooting events and fulfilled a dream of participating in the Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater, Texas. He has been laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens next to his parents. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare League of Clark County at 6330 Willowdale Rd. Springfield, OH 45502. Arrangements entrusted to Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center.
