Barbara Marie Campbell, a beloved matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio, at the age of 89. Born on April 5, 1936, in Springfield, Ohio, Barbara dedicated her life to caring for others—a passion that guided her through her impressive nursing career.
Starting as a Candy Striper at the tender age of 16, Barbara showed an early commitment to helping those in need. Her journey in healthcare continued as she earned her LPN, followed by her RN, leading her to work in several hospitals and doctors' offices, predominantly in the Springfield area.
Barbara’s life was anchored in love and family. She married her dear husband, Benny Campbell on August 27, 1955. Together, they shared a remarkable 66 years of marriage, filled with cherished memories, laughter, and unwavering support for one another until his passing in 2022. Alongside her husband, she was a devoted member of the Grape Grove Church of Christ with faith being an essential cornerstone of her life.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (Bruce) Dillion, Denise (Timothy) Montgomery, and Diane "Dee" Campbell and her brother, Wilber E. (Nancy) Price. Additionally, she is the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and cherished her numerous great and great-great grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) and a past member of the Eastern Star, where she formed many friendships.
In addition to her husband, Barbara was preceded by her cherished parents, Russell and Catherine (Seitz) Price, and her brother, Russell Price, Jr.
In celebration of her life and legacy, a visitation will be held at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center on January 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by services beginning at 11:00 AM. Barbara will be laid to rest at North Cemetery in Cedarville, Ohio. Contributions may be made to the Grape Grove Church of Christ, 6626 Grape Grove Rd, Jamestown, OH 45335.
