Barbara Ellen (Gilmore) Flinn passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. She was born in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of James Curtis and Nelle Powell (Dennis) Gilmore. A graduate of Springfield High School and Bliss Business College. She retired from the City of Springfield Health Department where she worked as the Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics. Barbara was involved in her community serving as an active member in multiple associations including Elderly United, Habitat for Humanity, Central United Methodist Church, Temple Sholom, and Beth Abraham Synagogue. She was also an incredibly talented artist showcasing her art in many exhibits and honored to have one of her paintings on display in former Congressman Clarence Brown’s Washington D.C. Office.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jim (Alberta) and Jerry Gilmore, sister, (Anne) Bill Bell, her husband, Evard Flinn who she always described as the love of her life. She is survived by her sister, Dottie (Blair) Pascente, children Shea (Rebecca) Beloff, Razelle (Randy) Beloff, Gregg (Linda) Reigel, Sam (Kelly) Beloff, and her grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) McFarland, Grant (Andrea) Reigel, Mariam, Gavriella, Jacob, and multiple great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan 12, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rabbi Kozberg. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Barbara’s favorite charities; Habitat for Humanity or Project Woman.
