Brenda Leigh Ohlinger, a devoted mother, grandmother, and partner, left this world on August 15, 2025, in Springfield, Ohio, at the age of 57. Born on August 26, 1967, in Chillicothe, Ohio, Brenda's life was characterized by her unwavering love and loyalty, not only for her family but for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Brenda was a vibrant soul, described as both “Tough but Tamed.” As a young mother, she poured her heart into raising her children, exemplifying a nurturing spirit that extended to many others who crossed her path. Her strength and protectiveness made her a steadfast advocate, standing firmly behind her family, even when they were mistaken. She was known for her outspoken nature and straightforwardness, always providing guidance that was rooted in love. Brenda was a loving partner to Rene Anderson for 13 wonderful years, together they enjoyed shared moments fishing and taking nighttime car rides while reveling in their favorite music, especially the tunes of Jelly Roll.
Beyond her time with family, Brenda cherished her time spent collecting jewelry, coloring, and drawing, demonstrating her artistic spirit. She had a well-known fondness for candy, particularly Reese’s Cups, and a special affection for her throw blankets. In addition to being a nurturing mother to her own children, Brenda shared an extraordinary bond with her grandson, Gaige, whom she lovingly mothered as if he were her own. This unique relationship epitomized the depth of her love and the strength of her character.
Brenda is survived by her beloved partner, Rene Anderson; her daughter, Junica (Rick) Bruce; her son, Deven Ohlinger; her sister, Kristina Cooper; and a magnificent array of grandchildren including Gaige Ohlinger (Raeven Walters), Hunter Rogers (Connor Fischer), Breaden Vaughn, Brealynn Vaughn, Bryce Vaughn, Tre Foulk (Cierra Ramey), Gianna Swigart, Corey Ohlinger, Myah Ohlinger, Maleah Ohlinger, Sayge Ohlinger, Deven Ohlinger, Jr., and Deveney Ohlinger. Additionally, Brenda cherished her great-grandchildren, Carisma Rogers, Gaige Ohlinger, Jr., Natasha Ohlinger, Raea Ohlinger, and Leighanah Ohlinger.
Brenda was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Virgil and Geraldine (Tilton) Keaton; her daughter, Natasha "Tash" Ohlinger; her sisters, Maudie Lemaster, Cindy Fugate and Verna Keaton; her brother, Les Keaton, Jr.; and her nephew, Tommy Keaton.
Visitation will be held at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center on August 20, 2025, from 2p.m.-3p.m. with service beginning at 3p.m. Following the service, Brenda will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery.
