Carolyn Sue Strong

Carolyn Sue Strong, age 75, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August

10, 2026. She was born February 25, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a daughter of Claude and Daphne

(Chavis) Joscelyn.

Carolyn always had a deep love for children and made a lasting impact on the lives of all who were blessed to

know her. She joyfully gave of her time and energy to everyone around her, always making herself available to

others in need. She loved to send cards to encourage others going through a difficult time. She truly embodied

what it means to live a life in service of others.

In 1977, she married her husband, John. They enjoyed traveling together across the country and grew to be

best friends, always there to support each other over their 49 wonderful years together.

In later years, you could often find her with her grandchildren. She adored making them their favorite foods,

going on adventures and creating precious memories for each of them. She would do anything she could to

make her grandbabies happy.

She loved to decorate for every occasion, always making birthdays and holidays extra special for her family. No

matter where she lived, she always turned a house into a home. At Christmastime, she treasured giving her

friends goodie trays of homemade candies and her famous peanut butter fudge.

She taught Sunday School for over 30 years, influencing the lives of hundreds of children in that time. She was

also deeply passionate about homeschooling and remained involved in her local homeschool group for many

years. A member of Victory Baptist Church, her faith in God was the foundation of her entire life.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, John Milton Strong, Jr., daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Laban Seth) Milyard;

son, Samuel Nathan (Amanda Shay) Strong; grandchildren, Bradley Milyard, Jackson Milyard, Kellan Milyard,

Aiden Milyard, Miles Strong and Lily Strong; brothers Mark Andrew (Melissa) Joscelyn and Lee Edward

Joscelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Daphne Joscelyn.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at 10am at Victory Baptist Church – 2691 West

Possum Rd. Springfield, Ohio 45506.
