Charlene Mae (Laird) Pierce
92 formerly of New Albany, Ohio and Springfield, Ohio passed
peacefully onto Heaven January 14, 2021. She was born in
Marysville, Ohio May 10th, 1928. Graduated Marysville High School
and White Cross School of Nursing. Preceded by parents, Walter
and Honor (Van Atta), brothers and sisters, Charles, Carol, Colleen,
Clarice, and Chester. She is survived by brother, Claud, and three
sons, Mark W Pierce (Shelly), Bruce W Pierce (Cindy), and Scott A
Pierce (Lynn). She was a founding member of the New Albany
Church of Christ and current member of First Christian Church.
Raising a family of 3 boys now all married with 7 grandchildren;
Lepeka, Naomi, Joshua, Todd, Tyler, Zachary, and Bethany,
12 great-grandchildren; Michelle, Anya, Eleanor, Charlotte, Kathryn,
Marjorie, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Alec, Anabelle, Miriam, and Kayla.
Among many accomplishments worked 10 yrs. Nursing, proud to be a
Navy and Fireman’s wife and mother of United States Air Force men.
Developed Shetland Sheepdog kennel 15yrs., volunteered 20 yrs. at
New Albany schools and 8 yrs. at the Columbus Zoo as a Docent.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 22 from 4-6 pm and
10:00 am Saturday January 23. Service will be 11:00 am at the
JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, N. Limestone St.,
Springfield, OH. Speaking will be Daniel Jacobus and Dave
Augustus.
