Charles G. Heath, age 94 of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully September 2, 2025. He was born Easter Sunday April 5, 1931 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Garvice and Blanche (Davis) Heath. Charles is survived by his loving daughters, Roxanne (Jim) Welch and Rhonda (John) Nave, grandchildren; Christine (Jeff) Neltner, Carolyn (Mark) Wyse, Courtney Welch, Corrinne (Jon) Millsap, Curtis (Sidney) Welch, Joshua (Jen) Harris, Jason (Lindsey) Harris, Matthew Nave, Tyler Hobbs, and Stefanie Hobbs, great-grandchildren; Izabella, Roxanne, Sam, Anne Marie, Aubrey, Anna, Ella, Kenzie, Grace, Dylan, Tucker, one great-granddaughter on the way, Althea, one great-great granddaughter, Willow, son-in-law, Greg Hobbs, and uncle, Rex (Frances) Davis. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Phyllis (Capper) Heath, daughter, Rebecca Hobbs, brother, Bill (Joyce) Heath.

Charles proudly served his country in the Army. As a member of the Presidential Honor Guard, he stood stoically in service to the nation during the administrations of Presidents Truman and Eisenhower. His whistling cadences during marches became a legendary signature, a melodic reminder of his commitment and precision. Charles began his professional journey as a job setter and machinist, contributing his skills to esteemed companies such as NCR, Dresser Tool, and Wright Patt Air Force Base. Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Charles found joy and solace in nature's embrace. Hunting, fishing, and camping were not just hobbies, but profound passions that connected him with the world around him. His frequent excursions to state parks were opportunities for him to share his love for the outdoors with family and friends, and to reflect on the beauty of life’s simple moments. Charles also had a deep appreciation for poetry and was a member of Clark Lodge #101. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Charles will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
