Cora Linn Hughes

Cora Linn Hughes, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 59. She was born on January 14, 1967, in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Cora will be remembered as a woman with a creative spirit and a loving heart. She loved painting and drawing, and she found joy in being creative in ways that brought beauty and expression into everyday life. She was also a music lover and an animal lover, and these simple but meaningful passions reflected the warmth and gentleness that marked her life. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and those moments with them were among her greatest treasures.

Family was an important part of Cora’s life. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Kimberly) Burr and Jeremy (Raven) Burr. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Kourtnie Burr, Cameron Elliott, Kaylinn Adams, Gage Burr, Jade Burr, and Noah Burr, each of whom brought her great happiness. She is also survived by her brothers, Brian (Lachandra) Baker and Michael Hughes; her sister, Jody Hughes; her aunt, Debra (Kirk) Sexton; and her uncles, Jack (Bobbi) Hughes and Curtis (Becky) Hughes. The love she shared with her family will continue to live on in their memories and in the many quiet ways she touched their lives.

Cora was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Jefferson Hughes Jr., and by her mother, Linda Sue (Oney) Hughes.

Those who knew Cora will remember her for her creativity, her love of music and animals, and the special joy she found in her family. Her memory will be carried forward by those who loved her, and she will be dearly missed.
