Cynthia "Cindy" Lee Davis

Cynthia "Cindy" Lee Davis, age 67 of Springfield, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 22, 2026. She was born March 29, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Howard R. Sr. and Dona (Carter) Whitaker. Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Gary L. Davis; daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Cochrun and Laura (Andrew Payne) Davis; grandchildren, Joselyn (Quinn Zhanai) Sarabia and Peyton Cochrun; father, Howard R. Whitaker Sr.; and siblings, Vicki (Michael) Carpenter and Howard R. Jr. (Diana) Whitaker. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Dona (Carter) Whitaker.

Cindy found great joy in the beauty and creativity of arts and crafts. She had a special talent for sewing, jewelry making, and embroidery, and she loved sharing that gift with others. For three decades, she turned that passion into a business of her own, which she ran out of a storefront in Waynesville, Ohio, and brought to life at local craft shows throughout the area. She was fond of exploring thrift stores and antique markets with her family, where she found inspiration for decorating her home for each season. She also enjoyed taking road trips with Gary and their family, and had a special affection for her Yorkies. A talented baker, she delighted loved ones with beautifully decorated birthday cakes and Christmas sugar cookies. Above all, she treasured her family and will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and caring sister whose creativity, warmth, and love touched the lives of those around her.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Kevin Moehn. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
