Daniel Allen Gallagher, aged 79, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the Springfield Regional Medical Center. Born on August 8, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Daniel lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and community.

Daniel enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring after 32 years from Ford in Detroit. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, exemplifying the values of service and commitment throughout his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, Daniel cherished his time spent engaging with the community, notably as a dedicated member of the Exchange Club in Springfield, where his spirit of volunteerism shone brightly.

He was also a devoted member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, finding strength and solace in his faith. His commitment to service extended into his personal life, as he volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul, where he made a continual impact on those around him.

Daniel’s warmth and kindness were evident through his beloved wife of 22 years, Marilyn Gallagher. Together, they created countless cherished memories, including camping trips and frequent visits to Pigeon Forge. He had a giving spirit, reflected in his contribution to the Clark County Fair, where he enthusiastically worked games for the kids' day, bringing joy to young faces.

He is survived by his siblings Timothy (Christine) Gallagher, Joann (Howard) Comstock, Michael (Lucy) Gallagher, Theresa (Mike) Cavanaugh, Tony (Elaine) Gallagher, Gerri Goff, Susan (Patrick) Dempsey, Christopher (Marianne) Gallagher, Thomas (Cecilia) Gallagher, Mark (Steve) Gallagher, and Martha (Mario) Diliani. His family also includes his sister-in-law Patricia (Bud) Oneal, along with many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their uncle.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Edward S. and M. Virginia (Pearl) Gallagher, step-son Chris Ferryman, and brothers-in-law Rick Goff, Charles Grieser, and sisters-in-law Christine Gallagher and Tina Gallagher.

Visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center located at 2425 N Limestone St, Springfield, OH 45503. A Mass celebrating Daniel’s life will take place on January 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa Catholic Church, located at 1827 N Limestone St, Springfield, OH 45503.

Daniel Allen Gallagher will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his contributions to those around him, and the love he shared with family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
