Diana Lynn Foster, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away on May 13, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 75. Born on January 24, 1950, in Springfield, Ohio, Diana dedicated a remarkable 45 years of her life serving the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services before retiring to cherish the next chapters surrounded by her loved ones.
Diana was the embodiment of compassion, known for her super kind nature that endeared her to everyone she met. Her amazing heart radiated warmth, drawing people into her world where they felt accepted and cherished. She was truly the stronghold of her family, a devoted matriarch who always put others’ needs before her own.
Her home was a sanctuary filled with the memories of laughter and love. Diana had a passion for cleaning and cooking, and she took great joy in gardening. Fond memories of her euchre nights, surrounded by friends, reflect the joyful spirit she carried in her life.
Diana leaves behind her beloved daughter, Amanda Khan, and her cherished grandson, Nicholas Offenbacker. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Ellis, and her sisters, Teresa Daggett and Kimberly Ellis. Diana was a proud aunt to her nephews and nieces: Chris, Cheri, Seth, Nannon (Tim), Sarah, Rob (Tina), Andy (Megan), Matt (Karen), Shannon, and Jake (Amy), as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews whose lives she touched deeply.
She also shared a unique bond with her previous husband and close friend, Bill Foster, and cherished her friendship with Mary Beth Payton-Turner, who was by her side through thick and thin until the very end.
Diana was preceded in death by her loving parents, Harold and Marjorie Ellis, her sister Barbara Kimmell, sister-in-law Mary Ellis, her beloved nephew, Josh and her longtime friend, Terry Fenwick.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center.
In remembering Diana, we celebrate a life beautifully lived—a life that exemplified kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family. May her spirit continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us all of the importance of love, compassion, joy and forgiveness.
