Douglas C. Klappich

KLAPPICH, Douglas C. age 77 of Yellow Springs, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1946 to the late Louis William and Blanche (White) Klappich in Toledo, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Klappich.  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Deborah McGee, with whom he has spent over 40 years making beautiful memories; his three daughters: Wendy Eilert, Tiffaney Coakley and Christie Decker; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as so many friends and yoga enthusiasts.  Douglas was a yoga instructor in Eugene, Oregon and Columbus, Ohio for many years and was a devoted Ayurveda consultant.  Douglas was certified by the Ayurvedic Institute, Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he studied under Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Robert Svoboda, Dr. David Frawley, and Amadea Morningstar. He is a former bowling alley manager, village police officer, and U.S. Marines Reservist. Douglas received his yoga  teacher certificate under Rev. Swami Satchidananda, and trained and taught at Ann Wigmore’s Hippocrates Health Institute. He founded the Eugene Yoga Center in Oregon in two locations, and also taught yoga in Floyd, Virginia, and Columbus, Ohio.
