Dr. Duane R. Wood

Dr. Duane R. Wood, 78, long time resident of Cedarville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 14, 2019. He was born on November 3, 1941, in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of the late Howard and Charlotte (Hobson) Wood. Duane graduated from Ben Davis High School, class of 1960, received his undergraduate degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, his MBA from Butler University and his PhD from Indiana University. He retired from Cedarville University as the Academic Vice President and was also a 25-year board member at Jerusalem University College. Dr. Wood was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 32 years and will be deeply missed by his church family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sherrie (Money) Wood; sons, Curt D. Wood of Columbus, Ohio, Casey H. and Michelle Wood of Cedarville, Ohio and Evan D. and Lisa Wood of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Adam, Claire, Callan, Emi, Kyler and Cami; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Barry Eller and Nancy and Dick Inskeep; and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ron Wood and granddaughter, Reece. Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 4-8p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Cedarville, Ohio. A celebration of his life will be on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 10a.m. also at the church with Pastor Richard Blumenstock officiating. Burial will follow at North Cemetery.
