Edna Jean Stout, affectionately known as Jean, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2026, in Springfield, Ohio. She was born on September 18, 1937, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Jean will be remembered for her faith and for the steady love she gave to her family throughout her life. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church, a place that reflected the devotion and values that guided her through the years.

At the heart of Jean’s life was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Stout, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage. She also leaves behind her daughter, Kathy (Ron Myers) Milam; her son, Robert “Bob” Stout; her sisters, Joan Massie and Alice Mason; her grandchildren, Jarrod, Matthew, Brittany, Jeff, Joel, and Cassie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Their lives were enriched by her presence, her care, and the enduring example she set.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Albert Van Fossen and Alice Vivian (Collins) Van Fossen; her sons, Gregory Stout and Michael Stout; her grandson, Brandon Stout; and her granddaughter, Leslie Milam.

Family and friends will be received for visitation on September 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 3638 Middle Urbana Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45502. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Jean’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and in the family she cherished so deeply. Memorial contributions may be made in Jean's honor to First Christian Church. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com
