Springfield

Ethel M. Brodbeck, went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2026. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob, of 63 years. Ethel served as a missionary utilizing her nursing skills and angelic personality to assist others in times of need. She was instrumental in assisting in the creation of the first Medicare certification for Mercy Hospice in the late 1980’s. Her love in life was helping people and impacted many lives with the guidance of God. She continued to work after retirement at USS. She loved snow skiing and gardening, but above all, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sports and had a special bond with each of them. She was an inspiration to all and will be dearly missed. Ethel is survived by her daughters, Robin (Craig) Gevedon and Lori (Mike) Brown; grandchildren, Tiffany Ridder, Alex (Kylie) Brown and Skyler Watson; and great grandchildren, Ty, Jordyn, Oaklee, Jenson and Emree. A special thank you to her personal caregivers that assisted during her end of life journey in her home. In addition, thank you to Ohio’s Hospice for being there in her time of need. Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Contributions may be made in Ethel’s honor to Ohio’s Hospice by visiting www.ohioshospice.org/give.
