Forest O. Rodgers Jr.

Forest Oakley Rodgers Jr., age 82 of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was born March 16, 1944 in Urbana, Ohio, the son of the late Forest Oakley Rodgers Sr. and Beulah (Dovel) Rodgers. Forest, affectionately known as ‘Spike”, is survived by his children; John (Jenny) Rodgers, Matt Rodgers, and Angela (Kris) Frost, grandchildren; Joel (Rebekah) Rodgers and Julia Rodgers, great-grandchildren; Everett and Emmett, brother, Tom Rodgers, and loving companion, Gerrie Fogle. Along with his parents, Forest was preceded in death by his loving wife, Crystal Lynn (Perkins) Rodgers, and siblings; Jerry Rodgers Sr. and Sharon Crawford.

Forest selflessly served our nation in the United States Air Force for 6 years. Following his service, he worked as an electrical union worker as a member of the IBEW Local 669. He then worked at Navistar for 10 years until his retirement. Forest was also a member of New Hope Church, Springfield. He also found joy in woodworking, building things, and simply working with his hands. Most importantly, Forest’s family was at the center of his life.

Family and friends will be received on Friday May 1, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Kevin Moehn. A meal will be provided after the funeral service at the funeral home.
