Gary Michael Miller, age 73 of Springfield, Ohio passed away July 25, 2026. He was born October 18, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Arlene (DeLong) Miller. He is survived by his children; Joel Miller-Marsh, Rachel Ryan, Isaiah Michael (Aryca Litwiller) Miller, Kurtis (Harry Oglesbee) Miller, Hannah (Randall) Mollett, and Samantha Holub, grandchildren; Anton, Tannan, Christopher, Jacob, Luna, Felix, Beckham, Liam, Alaria, Liam, and Maya, siblings; David, Mark, Beth, Stan, and Paul, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandmother, Odie Newson, and maternal grandparents: Emmett (Vespa) DeLong.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years, some of which spent in the 110th Infantry in Denang, Vietnam, before dedicating many years of service to his community through custodial work and as a cook at the Springfield Country Club. A gifted cook, he found great joy in preparing meals for family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to gather around his table. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He had a deep appreciation for classic rock, old cars, and spending time at car shows, while quieter moments were often spent watching movies and television, listening to music, creating artwork, drawing, or casting a line while fishing. Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, he loved making others laugh and never missed an opportunity to share a joke. One of his greatest accomplishments was his lifelong commitment to AA, maintaining his sobriety since 1987. His resilience, generosity, and kind heart touched countless lives and will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield.
