George Douglas Pappert

George Douglas Pappert, age 74 of Springfield, Ohio fell asleep in Christ on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was born June 30, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio to the late George Pappert Jr. and Marjorie (Lancaster) Pappert. George is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda (Collins) Pappert, children, Kim (Brad) Harris, Michelle (Jim Cellar) Near, Mark (Shannon) Hackathorn, grandchildren, Korie Near, Brice Near, Cohan Cellar, Addyson Harris, Savannah Hackathorn, and Emma Hackathorn, siblings, Mike (Cathy) Pappert and Becky VanHoose, faithful companion, Gigi, special family friends, Nate (Bernie) Brown and Kelly (Ruth) Kise, work friends from Bryce Hill and Honda Manufacturing, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

George built a distinguished career, working diligently for Bryce Hill and later for Honda Manufacturing in Marysville, where he dedicated 23 years of his life as a production associate before retiring. George also had a passion for exploration. He enjoyed cruising and traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the Caribbean. He also had a love for aviation, finding great joy in flying his airplane. George was also a member of the North Hills Church of God and an avid dog lover. He found solace and satisfaction in working in his yard, a testament to his dedication to beautifying his surroundings. His efforts were recognized in the community when he was awarded the City Beautification Award, highlighting his commitment not just to his own home, but to enhancing the beauty of the neighborhood. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, George will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 11:30-1:30 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or North Hills Church of God in George’s honor.
