Irene Ponciana Dearmon, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Springfield, Ohio. Born on April 5, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, she lived a life enriched by her strong faith and devotion to her loved ones.
Irene enjoyed a remarkable career as a hard worker, retiring three times during her journey, which included her time at the Red Roof Inn call center, Meijer, and Bomag. She approached each role with dedication and a spirit that inspired those around her.
Irene had a passion for dancing and treasured memories of her time spent on the dance floor. She had an unwavering love for Mexican music and the timeless melodies of Elvis. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her love for traveling, often marking journeys that created lasting memories with her family.
A devoted family woman, Irene regarded her family as her greatest priority and proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her loving daughter, Tonya (James) Krupp; daughter-in-law, Lynn Dearmon; granddaughters, Tiffany (Christopher) Fowler, Jenna Krupp, and Jillian (Dakota) Williams; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Alivia, and Jameson; and her siblings, Al Mauricio, Andra Cahill, Jo Clingerman, Mary Grace Troxtell, and Tim Mauricio. Additionally, she cherished her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, William T. "Bill" Dearmon, as well as her son, William F. "Will" Dearmon; grandson, Stephen F. Dearmon; and siblings, Gloria Harvey and Arthur "Art" Mauricio, along with her parents, Joseph Claude and Ponciana (Valadez) Mauricio.
Family and friends are invited to honor Irene's life during visitation on July 6, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, located at 2425 N Limestone St, Springfield, OH 45503. A Mass celebrating her life will follow on July 7, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Teresa Catholic Church, situated at 1827 N Limestone St, Springfield, OH 45503.
Irene leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
