Linda Sue Plank, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on December 22, 1954, in Springfield, she lived a life rich with connections and unwavering enthusiasm for her family and friends.
A proud graduate of South High School, class of 1973, Linda furthered her education, obtaining an associate's degree in business administration. She dedicated her career to serving others, retiring from the Springfield VA Center where she made lasting relationships with coworkers and patients.
Linda was known for her vibrant personality as a social butterfly, often seen out at restaurants and local events with her husband. Linda’s love for family trips was evident, particularly her memorable visits to Orange Lake Resort in Florida, where she could be found enjoying lakeside lemonades. In addition, she enjoyed her trips to the Haddix Swim club, where she was a founding member. An avid sports fan, she passionately supported the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals, showing her allegiance with pride.
Throughout her life, Linda was never a stranger to anyone; her outspoken nature ensured that she was always heard. She cherished a warm and welcoming home, where family and friends gathered to share laughter and create countless memories. One of her favorite things to do with family, was attending her kids and grandkids sporting events and activities.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Steve Plank, and their children, Karla (Dustin) Tuttle and Brian (Sara) Plank. She was a loving grandmother to Morgan Morris, Hunter Tuttle, Aynslee Plank, Tucker Plank, and Mikala Morris. She is also survived by her siblings, Don Stout, Jimmy Stout, and Barb (Mark) Zeller, as well as step-siblings Jerry (Carol) Hoffman, Jo (Teri) Hoffman, and Sandy Hoffman. Her legacy extends to her mother-in-law, Marianne Plank, brother-in-law Mark (Debbie) Plank, special friends Bill and Kim Newell, cousin Cindy Haddix, and numerous dear friends at the DAV.
Linda was preceded by her father, Donald (Aletha) Stout; mother, Jacquelyn (Carl) Hoffman; brothers, Bill (Lynda) Stout and David (Helen) Stout; step-brother, Jay Hoffman; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Stout and Monika Stout; and father-in-law, Donald Plank.
A visitation will be held on February 11, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, followed by a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Linda’s honor to the DAV by visiting www.dav.org. and noting Chapter 13.
