Luella Jane McConaha-Guldan, age 88 of Mount Vernon, formerly of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2026. She was born February 3, 1938 in Antrim, Ohio, the daughter of the late Myron and Ruth (Chase) Stockdale. Luella is survived by her husband, Ronald Guldan and his 3 sons, her children, Jane (Ron) Sizemore, William McConaha Jr., Amy (Gary) Wilson, and Ben (Tammy) McConaha, grandchildren; Chad (Erin), Dave (Holly), Tiffany, Willie (Tara), Nicole, Megan, Chase (Mia), Nick, Chloe (William) and Jake, great-grandchildren; Rose, Anne, Seth, Porter, Tillee, and Adlee, sisters, Betty Hill and Marjorie Watson, and special family friend, Linda. Luella was preceded in death by her parents, late husband, William R. McConaha, son, Tim McConaha, and brothers-in-law, Thom Hill and Bob Watson.
Luella cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She found immense joy in family gatherings, where her home was full of stories, love, and laughter. She loved to travel, with Hawaii holding a special place in her heart. She loved going to the beach and soaking up the sun every chance she could. Luella found solace in her hobbies, which included shopping, gardening, reading, and photography. She had a special eye for capturing the beauty of the world around her, taking photos of everything—from blooming flowers to candid moments with family. She also had a knack for cross stitch which won her an award at the county fair. Luella was known for her delicious freezer corn, a treasured recipe that brought comfort and joy to her family. A devoted Christian, she was also a former member of Southgate Baptist Church, Springfield and current Member of First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon. Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend- she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love her.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Bill Barton. Luella will be laid to rest back home at the Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Vernon First Baptist Church music ministry or St. Jude Children's Hospital in Luella’s honor.
