Margaret Mary Green

July 14, 1931 — February 1, 2026

Margaret Mary (Wallace) Green, age 94, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Elizabeth (Decker) Wallace as the youngest of 5 children. Margaret’s family moved throughout her childhood but finally settled in Forestville, New York, where her parents opened Wallace Department Store.

Margaret’s faith became the cornerstone of her life when she, as a child, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She dedicated her life to serving Him and was a role model of kindness and love to everyone she met. Growing up, she traveled to different churches to sing with her siblings, “The Wallaces,” (Donald, Charles, Davina (Younger), and Robert Wallace, whom have all preceded her in death). In later years, she continued to use her musical talents, playing the piano and leading the choir in the churches her husband planted, along with being his administrative assistant.

She was a graduate of Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, New York, where she met her husband, the late Harold R Green. They were married on August 24, 1951. Together they embarked on a life of full-time ministry which included planting churches in Falls, Pennsylvania; Gary, Indiana; and Greenville, Ohio. In 1970, Margaret and her family moved to Cedarville, Ohio where she assumed the position of administrative assistant to her husband, the vice president of Christian Ministries at Cedarville University. In 1995, she retired from her full-time position, and for the next 13 years, she worked alongside her husband in representing the university across the United States, traveling in their 5th wheel RV making contacts with churches, schools, and alumni.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her life. If you were to walk into her kitchen, you would become aware that she daily prayed for her entire family, as their individual names were displayed on the wall all around her kitchen. Her practice of praying daily for each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild continued after she moved to assisted living, using a book that listed and pictured every family member.

Margaret’s love for God was evident in all she did, faithfully living the mission she and Harold embraced: Fully Rely On God (FROG).

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold, in 2011. She is survived by her children, Janet (Randy) Tate of Indian Trail, NC; Kathy (Rich) Boettger of Cincinnati, OH; Dann (Michele) Green of Cedar Falls, IA; and Larry (Beth) Green of Cleveland, OH, along with 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Margaret’s life and faith will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, OH on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Visitation begins prior to the service at 9:30 AM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Cedarville North Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Margaret’s memory to Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville where she was a member for over 50 years or to the Cedarville University’s Global Outreach – Christian Ministries where Margaret invested her career and life.
