Marilyn Lee (Miller) Fifer

Marilyn Lee (Miller) Fifer, 94 of Springfield went to her heavenly home on August 2, 2026. She was born January 5, 1932, in Forestville MD to the late Charles J. and Louise B. Miller. She grew up in Harrisonburg VA, attended Madison College (now James Madison) and married high school sweetheart George Lee Fifer in 1952. Upon their marriage, the couple moved to Richmond VA where George pursued his medical degree from MCV while Marilyn worked in the public library. The couple moved to Springfield in 1956 while George interned at Mercy Hospital. After a brief tour of duty in the Air Force, they returned to settle permanently in Springfield where they worked and raised their family. Both were active in several service clubs and organizations. After retiring, George from Navistar and Marilyn from Northeastern Local School District libraries, the couple went on 15 medical missions to Honduras.

Marilyn was an active member of the Northridge United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for 60 years. She wrote music, mostly spiritual and religious music, much of which was sung in NRUMC as well as other area churches. She was a charter member of the Northridge Lioness Club where she was active for over 60 years.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband George, son Steve (Valerie) Fifer of Urbana, daughter Shari Loukoumidis of Springfield, 5 grandchildren: Despina Loukoumidis, Frances Malone, Katherine Loukoumidis of Springfield, Benjamin Loukoumidis of Greece, and Gregory Fifer of Urbana, 6 great-grandchildren: Grace, Emily & Lukas Combs, Carson, Eleni, and Marianna Malone, 1 great-great-grandson DeWayne, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters: Margaret Greenwood, Helen Miller, Frances Burkholder, and Shirley Blozzon, 1 brother George Miller all of Harrisonburg VA, and 1 great-grandson Silas Malone of Springfield.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00AM in the Northridge United Methodist Church, 4610 Derr Road, Springfield, Ohio with funeral services stating at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
