Michael Lewis Wright, age 69 of Springfield, Ohio passed away July 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 29, 1956 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late John and Joan (Neary) Wright. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Julie (Feierstein) Wright, children: April (Kenny) Fent and Blaine (Jess) Wright, grandchildren; Kirsten, Kayla, Noah, Addy, and Londyn, siblings, Kevin Wright, Carla Grout, and Carl Wright, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings; Mitzi Fenner, Bruce Durstein, and James Wright, and step-father, Stanley VanMeter.
Mike began his career in the electrical industry at just 18 years old with WW Electric, where he started in the warehouse before advancing to the sales counter and eventually becoming an outside sales representative. Throughout his career, he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of both coworkers and customers through his hard work, knowledge, and friendly personality. Away from work, he had a passion for sports and found great joy in coaching youth baseball for boys ages 9–12 for 4 years and girls' softball for ages 13–16, leaving a lasting impact on the young athletes he mentored. He loved bringing people together, whether it was around a game of cornhole or euchre, or simply enjoying time with family and friends. He and his beloved wife shared a love for cruising and traveling, creating countless cherished memories along the way. Above all, he was a fun-loving man who embraced life with enthusiasm and found his greatest happiness in his family. His love for his children and, especially, his grandchildren was unwavering, and the time he spent with them was among his life's greatest blessings.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. A celebration of Mike’s life will begin at 3:00 PM, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation in Mike’s honor.
