Millard Lee Rife, Sr.

Millard Lee Rife, Sr., age 81, of Tremont City, Ohio passed away on July 31, 2026. He was born April 30, 1945, in Springfield, Ohio, a son of Mary Eileen (Clifton) (Mulkey) and Bernard Ivan Rife, Sr.

Millard married the love of his life, Margaret Anne in 1965, they were married for 61 wonderful years. He attended the Lawrenceville Church of God, volunteered for the Tremont City Fire Department, began working as a roofer with his stepfather at age 16, and served as the Maintenance Supervisor for Springview Developmental Center for over 20 years. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always there for his family to help in any way needed. Millard will truly be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Anne (Caylor) Rife; children: Sheila Renee (Tony) Stacy, Jeannette Anne (Chip) Rife, Steven Boyd (Shannon) Rife, Angel Hope Rife, Millard Lee (Carey) Rife, Jr. and Charity Faith (Scott) Rife; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Tammy Eileen Scheerschmidt; brother, Charles “Chuck” Frederick Mulkey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Eileen (Clifton) Mulkey and Bernard Ivan Rife, Sr.; great-granddaughter, Kassidee Baker; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernard Ivan (Susan) Rife and Clarence Edward (Patricia) Rife; mother-in-law, Pauline Melva Johnson; and stepfather, Arthur Boyd Mulkey.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon Tuesday, August 11, 2026 in the Lawrenceville Church of God, 3131 Fox Hollow Road, Springfield, OH with funeral services at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Tremont City, OH.
