Neya'Mya Edward Richard Cruz Powell

Neya'Mya Edward Richard Cruz Powell, a beloved baby boy, brought immense joy and anticipation to his family as they anticipated his arrival. His mother was filled with delight as she felt his little kicks and cartwheels growing within her. The excitement of taking him home to his Lion King room was beyond measure. While his life on this earth was brief, Neya'Mya left an everlasting impact on the hearts of all who cherished him.

Born on August 25, 2023, in Springfield, Ohio, Neya'Mya's time with us was tragically cut short on the very same day. His unexpected loss during pregnancy brought profound sorrow to his doting parents, Nakya Hypes and Paul Powell Jr. In their grief, they find solace in knowing that their precious son will forever be a part of them, even though they were unable to experience his laughter and smiles firsthand.

Neya'Mya's two older sisters, Na'Riea Hypes and Na'Mia Hypes, were excitedly awaiting the day when they could finally meet their little brother. Their love for him was boundless, as they dreamed of playing together and embarking on adventures as a trio. Even though their dreams will go unfulfilled, Neya'Mya's spirit will forever remain intertwined with theirs.

Neya'Mya was destined to be surrounded by a loving family. His grandparents Jason Hypes and Tina Runyan, along with Vicky (Mark) Minter and Paul Powell Sr., rejoiced in the anticipation of welcoming another grandchild into their lives.

The lineage of love extended even further with great-grandparents Della Davis and Tim Mathers, Gloria and Terry Campbell, May Powell and Charlene Minter; great-aunt, Caroline Minter. Neya'Mya would have been blessed with the presence of his doting aunts and uncles, Leighvi Powell, Gregory, Terrell Compton, Jamari Thomas, and Jason Hypes, Adryana Hypes and Karen and Victor Keeton who would have showered him with love. In addition to these beloved family members, Neya'Mya also leaves behind numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who were eagerly awaiting his arrival.

The memory of Neya'Mya's sweet spirit and the anticipated joy he ignited in the hearts of all will be forever treasured. Although he was taken from us far too soon, we find solace in knowing that his soul will forever be surrounded by love and devotion.

A visitation service will be held to honor and remember Neya'Mya on September 1, 2023. Starting at 1:00 PM at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center located at 2425 N Limestone St in Springfield, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to gather together during this time of reflection and support.
