Pamela Lynn (Beard) Huffman, 68, of Urbana, ran into the arms of Jesus on March 8, 2026. Born March 12, 1957 to David and Anne (Cox) Beard in Dayton, Ohio, Pam was a devoted servant of Christ, steadfast wife of 44 years to John Gregory Huffman, and beloved mother and grandmother.
A 1975 graduate of Northeastern High School, Pam enjoyed cheerleading, student council, and continued her Jet pride organizing class reunions for many years. She dedicated her life to serving others. Pam was a lifelong member of First Christian Church where she proudly served in the Military Ministry. She passionately volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, enjoyed teaching Bible school, leading youth groups, and was a lifelong supporter of Champaign County Right to Life. Pam was very educated in accounting and her skills were utilized by numerous local businesses as well as charitable and political organizations.
Pam found joy in life's simple gifts. Everything she touched became more beautiful. Her gardens were vibrant; filled with radiant flowers and fresh produce; her home decorated for every season. She was a master seamstress and an expert in her family's genealogy. She had the unique ability to turn something simple into something magnificent. She found God in the quiet moments while tending flowers, taking walks, and appreciating nature. She loved adventure, exercise, bargain hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling to Canada and Florida with family, and she meticulously documented all of life's milestones. She was an excellent cook and took pride in canning and sharing her homegrown food for Ohio's long winters.
Pam was the heart and soul of our home and family. Her life was a living example of Romans 14:7, "Whether in life or death, we are the Lord's." She courageously battled illness, yet never allowed it to dim her spirit. Pam faced each day with resilience, grace, and unwavering faith. Her Bible, always open on the kitchen table, gave her the strength to sing hallelujah through great difficulty and she laughed without fear of the future. Pam's family was her treasure and she persevered through great hardship to allow for just one more day to make one more memory. She provided a safe, peaceful and dynamic childhood for her children. She taught her grandchildren to use their gifts to honor God and to scatter sunshine along their way. We miss you, Mom. We miss you, Grandma. And until we meet again, we will spend our lives carrying on the legacy you forged for our family. You are victorious. You are free indeed.
Pam is survived by her husband, Greg Huffman; children Jessica (Greg) Mann, and David (Sara) Huffman; mother Anne Beard, sisters Cindi (Dave) Wilson, Patti (Kenny) Billet, Debi (Jim) Walters, and Melissa (Jeff) Hughes, mother-in-law Mildred (Millie) Huffman, and grandchildren Molly, Samantha Jo, Emily, and Annie Mann, Bennett and Kennedy Huffman. She was preceded in death by her father David Beard and father-in-law John (Corky) Huffman.
