Richard Lee Custis

Richard Lee Custis, born on January 13, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2025. He is remembered as a devoted husband and a man of strong character. Richard's life was marked by his deep love for Elizabeth Ann Custis (Rice), his beloved wife, who preceded him in death in 2023. Their shared passion for horse racing brought them together and formed the foundation of a cherished partnership. They enjoyed many joyful moments at the tracks creating lasting memories. A proud veteran, Richard served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1971, exemplifying bravery and dedication during his military service. Private graveside service will take place at Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio.
