Richard “Dick” Malcolm Turner, age 84 passed away January 1, 2026 at the Bluebird Retirement Community. He was born December 31, 1941 in Selma, Ohio to the late Malcolm and Esther (Smith) Turner. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Geraldine (Wilson) Turner, daughters: Vickie (Roger) Mackie and Linda (Michael) Leach, grandchildren: Natalie Mackie, Nickolas (Emma) Mackie, Thomas Leach, Timothy Leach, Sophia Leach, and Elizabeth Hope Leach, great-grandchild, Judah, sister, Marcia Williams, and sister-in-law, Karen Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, William “Bill” Turner.
Dick graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio Northern University. After graduating, he began farming in a partnership with his brother until 1988. After that, Dick went out on his own, farming independently until joining Chuck Wildman’s pig operation where he eventually retired. Dick loved his pigs, sheep, and cattle. Farming wasn’t just a job but a way of life. He took pride in his family and being a provider. He enjoyed family vacations with the kids and ultimately lived a simple life. Dick was a loyal, caring, soft spoken, and gentle spirit.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 PM at the Ingling Williams and Lewis Funeral Home, South Charleston. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Private entombment to be held at Rose Hill Mausoleum.
