Robert L. Hennen Jr., affectionately known as Bob, was born on October 2, 1951, in Washington, Pennsylvania. With a career spanning 30 years, he dedicated his life to the railroad industry as a devoted employee at CSX, where his unwavering commitment left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to work alongside him. Bob's days were filled with laughter, exuberance, and an undeniable passion for life that resonated deeply with family and friends alike.

On the serene evening of October 7, 2025, at precisely 4:20 p.m., Bob passed away peacefully at Villa Springfield in Springfield, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy defined by joy and connection. In reflecting upon his journey, one cannot overlook his vivacious spirit, which effortlessly drew people together. He was a man who relished the warmth of companionship and shared moments filled with laughter, his smile lighting up even the gloomiest days.

Bob's accomplishments extended far beyond his professional life; he held a Bachelor's Degree and possessed a remarkable talent for woodworking and landscaping. These hobbies were not merely pastimes; they were expressions of his creativity and love for nature. Additionally, those who were fortunate enough to witness him don the red suit of Santa Claus during the holiday seasons remember a man who embodied the spirit of joy and giving. Traveling was another of Bob’s passions, his adventures often shared with loved ones, creating countless cherished memories while he explored new horizons.

A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bob's loyalty to his team was unquestionable. Every game day was an occasion, punctuated by spirited discussions and playful banter, solidifying bonds with fellow fans and family.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Lori (Wilder) Hennen, whose partnership with him was a testament to enduring love. He was proud of his sons, Sean Hennen, Brian (Heather) Hennen and Ben Hennen, and doted on his daughter, Kelly (Larry) Spencer. Bob was the adored grandfather of Codie Spencer and Christian Spencer, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment, filling his days with laughter and wonder. He is also survived by his dear sister, Jan Wolff, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom carry a piece of his heart with them.

Bob's parents, Robert L. Hennen Sr. and Elizabeth (Bennington) Hennen, preceded him in death, leaving him with the resilience and determination that inspired his journey through life.

A gathering to celebrate his life will take place at the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center in Springfield, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to join together on October 18, 2025, starting from 2:00 p.m. to share memories and honor the vibrant spirit of a man who lived with an open heart and a joyful laugh. The celebration of life will continue at 4:00 p.m., where stories will be shared and the essence of Bob will be cherished, ensuring that his laughter echoes on, forever entwined in the memories of all who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Bob's honor.
