Ronald E. Johnson

Ronald E. Johnson, age 68, of Springfield, passed away on February 16, 2026, in his home. He was born on February 11, 1958, the youngest son of Richard and Mary (Flora) Johnson.

Growing up in Springfield, Ron attended Shawnee High School, class of 1976. He always had a passion for cars which led him to an extended tenure at Ricart Automotive Mega Mall, where he excelled in sales, earning recognition as a top seller for several months. Ron's passion for trading and dealing extended beyond the dealership, as he proudly held an Auctioneer license, reveling in the relationships he forged at sales. He held a particular fondness for buying and selling antiques and automobiles, recently acquiring a 1956 Ford pickup that he was eager to showcase.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Katie (Larry) Heinzman; his brothers, Charles Johnson (Sherry Setty) and James (Carol) Johnson; and his sister, Tanya (Kent) Miesse. Ron maintained close friendships with his previous wives, Jackie Johnson and Pamela Johnson. He also leaves behind his faithful four-legged companion, Otis; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. A special thank you to his caretaker, Shelly, Dr. Varghese and the dialysis staff at Davita for their loving care and compassion. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary (Flora) Johnson; his brother, Richard Johnson; and his sister, Roberta Mulkey. 

Visitation will be held at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center in Springfield, Ohio, on February 26, 2026, from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm followed by a funeral service beginning at 2pm. He will be laid to rest beside his parents at Ferncliff Cemetery.
