Ruth A. Lane

Ruth Alice (Greeley) Lane, age 91 of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2025. She was born May 18, 1934 in Londonderry, New Hampshire to the late George and Gertrude (Clark) Greeley. Ruth is survived by her children, Beverly (Steve) Pollock, David (Karen) Lane, and Lisa (Kevin) Hines, grandchildren: Jeremy Lane, Jessica (Mark) Waddle, Audrey (Joe) Cannestra, Cassie (Justin) Moyer, Miles (Ashley) Lane, Christi (Mitch) Harden, Katie (Zach) Holder, Kent (Amanda) Pollock, and Nate (Jackie) Pollock; 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James E. Lane, and brother, Harold (Bonnie) Greeley.

Ruth was a devoted educator. She taught religious education at all of the Clark County Schools for many years. Following that, she taught elementary for Springfield City Schools for over 20 years. Ruth also had a passion for music and singing. She found joy in being part of the Community Chorus, Vintage Voices, and church choir. She was a devoted member of the Springfield First Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering with the Young Women’s Mission. In her leisure time, Ruth found peace bird watching.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Adam Banks. Ruth will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery at a later date.
