Ruthann Maddux

Ruthann Maddux, born on June 20, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Springfield, Ohio.

As a dedicated surgical nurse, she ran the office for one of the top cardiovascular surgeons in Houston, Texas. She was also a certified medical assistant, graduating from Los Angeles City College of Nursing. Additionally, Ruthann served as a legal secretary at the same institution.

Beyond her career in healthcare, Ruthann ventured into the culinary arts alongside her husband, Jerry Maddux. For 17 years, they owned and operated Simply Delicious Restaurant and Catering.

Ruthann loved to travel, exploring various destinations across the country. She was an accomplished dress designer and took great pride in frequently designing her own formal wear, reflecting her unique personal style.

Ruthann is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Jerry Maddux; her son, David (Elizabeth) Maddux; and her cherished grandchild, Rumi Maddux. She is also remembered by her brothers, Robert (Ellen) McIntosh and Jim McIntosh, along with several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Maddux, and her parents, Larry and Marion (Hobsik) McIntosh.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
